I just had the most amazing adventure with Kylie, Nanna and Lif.
We set out off for Canberra Friday afternoon. I sat in my bed on the back seat next to Kylie.
I don’t like tunnels, so Nanma drove us through the suburbs, and I enjoyed the wind in my fur.
On the way we saw lots of sheep and cows and even water in Lake George. I am really a city dog
so, I felt much better when we arrived at our hotel.
After a quick sniff of the nearby golf course, it was off to the movies to see Thelma. That is, they
watched the film and laughed a lot, I preferred to get a good long nap in before dinner.
That night I slept between Kylie and Nanma, someone has to keep them safe.
Next day was very busy.
We picked up Nanma’s friend Renata and went to the Disability Expo so Kylie could make her
presentation. She spoke about Potholes and Sinkholes. I am not sure what that means but I was
next to her on stage so I saw how much people liked her talk.
Then it was time for some sightseeing. At the National Film and Sound Archive, there were lots of
funny old things to look at. As we were getting hungry, we went in search of something to eat.
Kylie and Nanma ordered the biggest plate of nachos I have ever seen. Lif had tacos with way too
many chilis.
The annual Moon Festival was in full swing, so we watched the ladies play traditional Chinese
instruments, I got to see lots of statues of dogs, none of them as good looking as me says Kylie.
After a brief rest back at the hotel it was off to see an Iranian play called English. I got to sit on Lif
and snooze. It was a very good play, but we got to bed very late. A dog needs his rest, you know.
Sunday was the last day that Lif was with us.
It was a day for going to galleries. First, we saw the Gauguin exhibition and I got to see Blue Poles
for the first time. Piska that supports Kylie on Monday would have loved the exhibit with art from
Peru.
The National Portrait Gallery has a great cafe. We all had a lovely lunch before seeing the Joan
Ross exhibition. She is a funny lady, and we all liked her art very much.
I went to the airport with Nanma and Kylie, and we waved goodbye to Lif.
Merilyn, Kylie’s schooldays friend had afternoon tea with us.
Monday was time for the trip home but not before we had caught up with old friends for brunch.
Stay tuned for my next adventure
